Bandshar.es understands and appreciates the importance of the fan and artist relationship and takes on a financial facilitation role, which allows fans to purchase and own a small vested interest or a “share“ in an artist’s latest project while also owning the product once the artist releases it. Thus in turn the artist gets the full benefit of the money, the fans invest, and the fan receives more than just a compact disc and concert ticket.

How does it work?

Once an artists signs on with our company, we collectively create a page explaining what kind of artist they are, what kind of sound they create and post a teaser of demos for the project they want to make. The artist then sets a goal of how much revenue they need to generate to make their project and they sell shares of their project based on their needs. Once the artist raises the money through their “ fan-investors, “ the project is created. Once the project is created it is distributed and sold through our company and the fan-investor receives monetary compensation per sale, the digital product itself and other artist-based incentives.

How much is a share and what do I get for buying one?

All artist will vary somewhat, but our standard deal will consist of buying one share for $20, plus a small transaction fee, and every share purchased will receive a digital release of the project, one concert ticket, a voucher for an exclusive fan-investor party and a monetary return based on a percentage of every musical product sold including all compact discs and digitally released formats of the project.

When I get paid for sales of the project I helped create how do I keep up with that?

Every fan-investor, once they buy a share, is issued an account that can be logged into so you can keep up with your quarterly earnings and the projects total sales. Bandshar.es will post all sales quarterly for the investors. You then log into your account that is created upon buying a share and you can request your payments via pay pal.

This all sounds good, but I am investing money, aren’t there some risks?

Yes. With all investments there are risks, but Bandshar.es being as experienced as we are with the risky nature of the music industry minimizes those risks to the fan-investor by not only placing certain criteria upon the artists, that they must meet and maintain in order to receive the money raised in full, but also approves and manages their expenditures to make sure the legitimacy of the revenue spent. Some of these measures include the bands having to submit a detailed prospectus report prior to being approved for our program that breaks down the financial need on the project. Then our experienced professional panel reviews and makes suggestions on the artist spending of the capital. Our company really helps the artist and fan-investor in this situation by helping the artist manage their finances and collaborate to make wise financial decisions to help reach the artist career goals.

One of the main things to keep in mind, as a fan-investor, is that the artist must complete a recorded project and release it in order to receive their raised funds, so at a minimum the fan-investor will receive the recorded project digitally. If the artist disbands or breeches the contract with Bandshar.es then the remainder of the capital raised is returned to the fan-investor via their account. For Example, in a worst case scenario, the artists raises $40,000 through selling 2,000 shares at $20 per share of the project and in the middle of recording the project in a studio the band breaks up. We will deduct the money spent in the studio ( which can be approved for no more than 20% of the entire budget or $8,000 in the case of our example ) which would return $16.00 per share of the original $20.00 per share invested. This is the absolute worst-case scenario of our business and only a very small percentage of projects ever end in this manner. This is just one of the many checks and balances we put in place throughout a project in order to maintain a great relationship between the fan-investor and the band.

Can I get rich from Bandshar.es?

Yes! You can profit from Bandshar.es greatly by helping promote a project and helping sell the release. A typical project will pay from $0.0003 to $0.0001 of every $1.00 earned from all sales. For example, lets say your bands project that you purchased a share of sells 50,000 downloads of their songs on Itunes for $1.00 each, 10,000 compact discs at $10 each and your share rate is $0.0003 of every $1.00. That would make your one share worth $45.00. You will have doubled your money plus gotten all of the perks of supporting the band – one of the first digital copies of the release, free concert tickets, parties, etc. The fan definitely wins in this situation!
